These YA stories are inspired by Taylor Swift songs and they sparkled! It was fun to look up song lyrics before reading each story and then spot the phrases and actions from them. I enjoyed the diversity of these love stories which include fantasy, magic, multicultural, queer and autism representation, as well as the love and appreciation of BFFs.

Lynn Painter’s story, It Happened One Wednesday is my favorite and the song that goes with it is Begin Again. Jess and Sadie knew each other when they were in 9th grade study hall and laughed a lot together. Years later, they are seniors in college and run into each other in a dive bar. Her blind date hasn’t shown up and she’s surprised and happy to see Jess. They catch up and laugh a lot and I won’t say more but it’s really sweet. I connected with some of the stories more than others but I loved seeing how different Taylor songs inspired each story. I think Taylor Swift fans will especially enjoy this YA collection.
