Patrick Bringley guarded art from all over the world. He is a good storyteller and I especially enjoyed the chapters about thefts!

My other favorite parts are when he talks about the history behind a piece or an artist (I especially enjoyed reading about Michealangelo and also Loretta Pettway, the quilter.) He becomes a tour guide and I would love to go on one of his tours! I’m inspired to visit my local art museum again with new ideas of how to experience it!

This is the story of a man who spent 10 years working as a museum guard at the New York Met Museum after the death of his older brother (from cancer). The pace was slower in the beginning but it picked up and this is short (240 pages).
